Zolqadr: U.S. Attempts to Deviate Reformation Drive in Iran

QOM Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Mohammad-Baqer Zolqadr said on Friday the global arrogance is after deviating the reform drive in Iran and overthrowing Iran's Islamic system through designing ploys against it.
Speaking in the military-cultural camp organized for the Basiji forces in the Qom Province, the commander stated that today the Iranian people along with the officials of the Islamic Revolution stand fast against the United States and do not allow it to damage the authority of the revolution.
He said the American authorities during 25 years of the Pahlavi dynasty's rulership sought to just preserve its own interests in Iran and to keep its domination over it.
The American domination over Iran has had negative consequences for Iranians such as the ruin of the Iranian national economy, loss of oil reserves and damage on the national culture, Zolqadr said.
The Westerners' cultural invasion against Iran was so vast that 20 years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution signs of the Western culture are still seen in Iran's society.
Referring to the takeover of the American embassy in Tehran by the students following the late Imam line in 1979, he said the main reason for the fact that Iran cannot reconcile with the United States relies in the true identification by the Iranians of the arrogance character of the United States.
He blamed those who support the resumption of ties with the United States and said in spite of their awareness of the American character of global arrogance, some in the country are recommending improvement of relations with the United States.
Zolqadr said policies supporting reconciliation with the United States are in fact the disloyalty to the ideals and targets of Iran's Muslim people and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
He praised the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) for the ratification of a law which enables the Iranian courts to deal with the case files lodged against the American government.
